Sweetly discarded
For me a shirt, skirt or a pair of shoes will tend to fit until they become too worn out or are discarded out of taste. For my girls, it is a forever changing body and a new stage in development that determines what is disregarded. There are some things that I have particular difficulty handing on, shoes and teddies are just some them. I have a small old suitcase with outgrown pairs of my girls shoes from the early years. I think the shoes are particularly hard to hand on as they are reminders of all the places they have been and all of the things they have done, and are the trusty little vehicles that allow my young ones to climb over rocks, walk over pointy gum nuts and step on sharp gravel.

I'm the same way about certain items of my daughters' clothing, holding on to them far too long. I had to take a picture of my youngest because today will probably be the last warm day of the year and so she'll never wear my favorite of her summer outfits again. So sad...
Awww! Once again your piccies reflect that lovely gentle sense of innocence. There's no reason why you shouldn't hang onto them if it brings a sense of nostalgia whenever you see them. The little pink petals are a beautiful tough - I actually thought you were using the petals as counters to indicate the kids' ages until I scrolled down and saw them scattered on other pics too. Silly me.
i often come across shoes, usually one separated from a pair, when walking... i still have a few kids ones. As objects they are so 'loaded' and i have yet to come up with an idea re making ('artwork'?) with them....your photos are beautiful - and a good way to work with them. i should just start playing with mine...i'll share any interesting outcomes....maybe we could all join in! A meme of sorts!
FYI!
A shoe sculpture
And close-up
Love your work!
I've kept quite a few pairs of my children's outgrown little shoes as well - something about shoes in particular, just have so much character. I also keep a box for each of them of favorite baby clothes they've outgrown over the years, for when they're grown up and have their own kids.
