Autumn, you're just in time

Ducks a flying and hearts a burning. The Adelaide Festival draws us out on a cool Sunday evening. A basket of trusty Autumn favourites gets a spot by our front door. Since seeing the film Julie and Julia our consumption of butter has gone up and the olive oil has barely made it out of the pantry. My daughter asked me to make the chocolate cake from the film. I found the recipe but making it would have required a good shop up to gather all of the ingredients. I went on the hunt for a more simple but still decadent recipe and found the perfect one from Leave room for dessert.....

My goodness ... is that a blue and green playdough cake? Waahooo! That takes me back to my childhood ~ I used to make tarts and pretend I was the queen of hearts!
