Random House Zen

Since our house was robbed a bit over a week ago I have been feeling an uneasy ambivalence towards our home space. On the weekend I decided it really was time to move on and begin settling back in. We baked and made play dough, I moved a few things around and spoilt myself with this always out of stock IKEA quilt cover to perk up the bedroom (which was the most turned over room in the house). I do feel much better after this effort and am conscious that I am mostly seeing the house in my familiar way again:)

Oh Julie,

I had no idea that had happened..i am so sorry to hear that. I have been so busy and a little absent from catching up with my favorite blogs (like this one) and had not read that.
Your house looks beautiful, it must feel strange to have all of your space invaded.
Sorry and take care

I've been robbed twice. The first time took me a while to feel comfortable in my own space. Katie was just a baby and there was glass everywhere. I was angry at the mess he made. He also left a huge knife with blood on it in my lounge room. He even had a chat to my next door neighbour. She said he was so calm he didn't even blink an eye. She thought he was a friend of ours. They didn't catch him but the police caught the guy who robbed us the second time. The irony is that he only stole the video - at the time it was the only thing left worth nicking!

Sorry you were robbed... It leaves you feeling violated and vulnerable doesn't it. It;s so much more than loosing your stuff, it's loosing your confidence. I hope you can put it behind you and move on.

It is your nest. Can I suggest a cleanse of sorts, smudging with sage is what comes to mind first.
