dancing shadows, playing with light

We are in the coldest days of winter. While it is warm socks and mittens weather the skies have been mostly blue. There have been warm patches of sun to jump in too here and there, to turn your face towards and close your eyes against. This afternoon sunlight flooded in through our front windows, making shadows dance on the walls and then a little later moving to set the jonquils ablaze in this dramatic way.

Beautiful photgraphs - again!
Not too much of winter left now. Staying lighter for longer each evening...

I enjoy these flowers in the dead of winter as well. We call them Paperwhites, I force the bulbs inside just before Solstice.

I just have to say it was really nice to meet you and your blog just lights up my day and brings tears to my eyes. You just capture glimpses of moments that remind me of beautiful quiet contemplation and sigh....thankyou!

Love these photos of winter. I think I like the city best at this time of year; the rain and cold seems to wash it clean and I spend so much time looking at the tops of the buildings against the winter sky that I trip on the footpath! Found you on flickr too - beautiful colours.
