In the city

I have not laid my eyes on coast or hills for two or three weeks. The city seems to have been my main destination for work and play and I am now craving a change of scene. My small family went south to the beach side for three days last week to make the most of the school holidays and my ties to work. The first time I had been at home without children and partner for almost a decade. Initially I was dreading coming home to a dark house and waking to a still one. But all was very well and I found many things to fill in my time with, dinner, movie, book, browsing - all so good! The pics above were taken in the city parklands on Sunday. The sweet image below is from the weekend movie we enjoyed so much - Fox and the Child.

Alone time is so good for the soul. But oh how you will welcome them home... Can't wait to check out that movie. We've had foxes sniffing around our hens and chicks this year, and it will be nice to have a different angle on one of their kind...

Ah, the serenity! What a wonderful time to recharge the batteries.
I have really grown to LOVE my alone time ... I'm my own best company cause I love to do all my favourite things with me!

I have had lots of 'alone time' while on this little odyssey and I am now sitting in a beautiful room looking over a wee loch on the stunning Isle of Harris, and I think I can finally relax and enjoy the beauty around me.It's good, but it's good to be with people too...
